Week 2

Everyone turned in their homework on time and completed.  Thank you for taking time to initial the boxes.  All of the children got to “clip-up” on our Responsibility Chart for being PROACTIVE!

We have been learning how to work together and cooperate as a team in our class.  Every time I catch the class synergizing they earn a tally mark towards a class goal.  Our first goal was to get 50 tally marks to earn extra recess time and we did it!  Make sure you congratulate your child!

(in more ways than one)

WE THINK

WE OBSERVE

WE MAKE GOOD CHOICES

WE ARE PATIENT WITH OURSELVES & OTHERS

WE COOPERATE ~ Together is Better!

Talk to your child at home and ask them about our rules.  Point out times at home when they are doing them.

We are also working on the math attribute of sorting.  We are learning to sort objects that are identical, similar, or different into sets.  We are also working on the numbers 1-5.

In language arts we are working on spelling our first name.  If your child can do this then they are working on their last name.  If they can spell their first and last name then they are working on memorizing and writing their phone number.  We are also learning about the difference between a letter and a word.

Take a look at some of the activities we did in literacy centers last week…

NO LIBRARY THIS WEEK

Since our library day is Monday we will not be going this week.  However, your child can return his/her book any morning before school and check out a new book for the week.

Grandparent Luncheon reminder… ALL grandmas and grandpas will need to do the following when they come to our Grandparent Luncheon on Tuesday, September 12:

1.  Check in at the office and provide valid identification: ID card, driver’s license, or passport and get a visitor’s badge.

2.    Pay the secretaries for lunch ($3.00).  They will give you a receipt that grandpa and grandma will then give to the lunch ladies as they go through the lunch line.
