Week 32

RAZ KID READERS!

Once again we have 2 more fabulous

Raz Kid Readers that passed off a level!

Victor

Evie

I am excited to announce that Hazel Allred and Aiden Janssen both wrote and illustrated their own book for the contest.  Out of all the Kindergarten they tied for First Place! CONGRATULATIONS to each of them!

Each of the children in our class also submitted 2 books that they wrote and illustrated.  One was entitled, I Like and the other book was a nonfiction book about EAGLES.  These are the winners from our class.

Their books will be on display during the Art Showcase Night on Thursday, May 3rd from 6-7:30 pm.

REUNIFICATION EMERGENCY DRILL
Friday, May 4th beginning at 12:45 pm
Please refer to the Principal’s Blog, my past email or the yellow note sent home last week for details.  You will need to bring the white card (that also came home in your child’s homework folder last week) with you in order to pick up your children.  If you have lost it you will be able to fill another one out when you arrive.

This is a secret (from the children)
All year long our class has been earning tally marks by synergizing together.  When we reach our goal we always have a reward.  We have earned a LEGO Party, Stuffed Animal Day, Extra Recess, Chalk Party, to name a few.  For our last one I would like to do something a little different.  Mrs. Campbell has given us permission to walk the 2 blocks to the park on Lincoln Avenue.  It is filled with lots of wonderful toys for the children to play on.  I have not shared this with the children because we can only do it if I have enough parent help to go with us for safety reasons.  I will need at least 5 parents (more is even better).  Please contact me if you are interested.  If I get enough parent chaperones I will then share what our activity is with the children.

We will be going on Wednesday, May 16th
from 1:00 – 2:45 pm.

We have 3 parents coming this week to share their profession.  I would love to have more for the next week:  May 7-11.  We are very flexible and can work around your schedule.  Please contact me if you would like to come.

On Tuesday, May 15th we will be dressing up as Community Helpers.  On this day the children may come to school dressed as a community helper of their choice.  Community Helpers are not fantasy characters or super heroes.  You do not need to go out and buy a costume.  Be creative and use what you have around the home.  On that day I will be taking a picture of each of the children to go into their Writing Portfolio.

Here are some examples of what children dressed like last year...
