Mrs. Scalise's Kindergarten Eagles: Week 11

Our Fall Party was so much fun! Thank you to our wonderful room mothers for helping plan it. Also, thank you to everyone who came and donated items.

· We practiced counting backwards by bowling over ghost with a pumpkin.

· We played a bean bag Jack-O-Lantern game and Spider Toss game.

· We ate pumpkin pie and drank spider cider. Yummy!

· We counted and graphed spiders.

· We had spider races and played with spider goo.

· We painted fall leaves with Karo syrup.

· We learned about how pumpkin pie all starts with a pumpkin seed. We dissected a pumpkin and some kids were brave enough to taste raw pumpkin out of a can. We ate pumpkin seeds and made a book about the life cycle of a pumpkin.

Our 3 top Raz Kid Readers last week are…

Aiden M. – 1 hour, 4 minutes

These 3 kids will each get an extra 500 stars for being our top readers for the week!

We learned about the letters

Xx is for x ray. It is also fun to use an X and O to play tic-tac-toe.

Hh is for hippos, hula hoops, and hedge hog. Thank you to Mrs. Maag for sharing her hedge hog – Peter Quill with us. Isn’t he adorable?

You will see a new set of pink snap words in your child’s homework folder today. Please cut them apart and add them to their snap word baggie.

In math we are learning about 2D flat shapes. A shape is a closed line.
Those lines can be straight or curvy. Shapes can also have corners (points). Ask your child to describe the characteristic of these shapes:
